Role Overview VML is seeking a Discoverability Supervisor, Commerce Search & Digital Shelf to lead product discoverability across retailer and marketplace search environments. This role focuses on how products are discovered within platforms like Amazon, Walmart, Target, Instacart, and grocery ecosystems, ensuring brands win both organic visibility and conversion at the digital shelf. You will work across Retail PDP and eContent, Digital Shelf, and Retail Media, translating search behavior insights and platform signals into actionable strategies that improve product ranking, traffic, and sales. What You'll Do Commerce Search & Digital Shelf Optimization * Optimize item relevancy and product discoverability across retailer search environments (Amazon, Walmart, Target, Instacart, Kroger, etc.) * Improve product ranking, share of search, and visibility through keyword, content, and taxonomy optimization * Partner with content teams to enhance product copy, images, rich media, attributes, brand stores and overall PDP quality Search & Performance Analysis * Conduct keyword research, share-of-search analysis, and competitive ranking assessments * Analyze retailer and search performance signals to identify opportunities and risks * Translate data into clear, prioritized actions that improve discoverability and conversion Cross-Channel Integration * Partner with retail media teams to align paid and organic strategies * Collaborate with analytics, content, and commerce teams to drive integrated performance * Support a holistic approach across retail SEO, digital shelf, and retail media Strategy & Innovation * Develop discoverability strategies tailored to each client's business goals and retailer mix * Stay current on AI-driven search, retailer algorithms, and emerging commerce trends * Contribute to evolving VML's Commerce Discoverability capability Client & Team Leadership * Lead Commerce Discoverability workstreams across multiple clients and business units * Present insights, recommendations, and performance updates clearly and confidently * Mentor junior team members and contribute to capability growth Who You Are * Strong communicator who can translate complex data into actionable recommendations * Comfortable operating across multiple retailers and platforms * Curious about how search algorithms and shopper behavior influence performance * Collaborative and able to work across media, content, and commerce teams * Proactive, structured, and accountable for outcomes What You'll Need * Minimum 4 years of experience in retail digital shelf and/or PDP optimization, agency experience preferred * Experience optimizing product discoverability within retailer or marketplace environments * Familiarity with platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, Instacart, or grocery retailers * Experience with tools such as: Helium10, Jungle Scout, Pacvue, Profitero, Edge by Ascential, Syndigo, Salsify, Item360/SupplierOne, Target POL, Vendor Central * Understanding of retail keyword strategy, product ranking, and conversion optimization Preferred * Experience working in commerce agencies or marketplace-focused teams * Familiarity with retail media and its relationship to organic performance * Experience supporting CPG brands across multiple retailers The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
