We are currently looking for
Senior Superintendent
to join our Wagman Construction Group for our upcoming project in Prince George County area.
The Senior Superintendent performs all duties of the Superintendent or Project Manager on multiple projects or for large or complex projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. They lead and manage construction teams, coordinate with various stakeholders, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications, as well as serving as a mentor to superintendents.
This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.
This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
As a full-service general contractor, Wagman Construction facilitates growth and development in senior living, healthcare, higher education, urban, institutional and industrial markets in central Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland.
Skills and Qualifications
Eight (8) years of minimum prior experience in project planning and scheduling, managing people, subcontractors, and an in-depth working knowledge of construction trades is needed
Must present a positive personal image with strong administrative and communication skills.
Essential Functions
Performs all duties of the Superintendent or Project Manager on multiple projects
Lead superintendent on large, complex projects
Oversee the development of project execution plans
Actively promote subcontractor/client relationships
Responsible for manpower assignments
Enforce labor agreements
Manage multiple Superintendents on a single project
Teacher/mentor to Superintendents
Perform Employee Development Discussions, goal setting for direct reports
Facilitate quarterly training events
Assist EVP with the hire/fire/promotion of operations personnel
Act as a building component or content expert
Visits jobsites regularly to ensure alignment with core values
Resolve complex or contentious situations that may arise
Perform each project successfully, including project scheduling and controlling direct job material and labor expenses
Ensure that assigned projects are executed in accordance with the contract documents and the high-quality standards of the company, and that each maximizes the company’s profit opportunities
Participating in constructability review meetings when requested by Estimating Department.
Present comments and concerns relative to site logistics, construction, material sections, and required details
Conduct formal start-up and planning meetings to orient subcontractors with their specific scopes of work
When working in existing facilities or campuses, hold planning meetings to include owner and subcontractors to coordinate construction operations with the activities of the facility or campus
Develop with a Project Manager and CPM, schedule using Primavera P6
Develop a project logistics plan in conjunction with the project schedule to effectively and efficiently execute the work
Develop a project-specific job safety program
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level, and up to 30 pounds above shoulder level throughout a scheduled work shift.
Continuous standing and walking are required throughout a scheduled work shift.
Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
Must be able to climb ladders.
Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, and crawl.
Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot, and humid weather.
Acceptable correct vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing are required.
