
Director of Facilities and Maintenance

Position Summary
The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is seeking a qualified and mission-driven individual to oversee the care, maintenance, and long-term stewardship of parish buildings and grounds. This is a full‑time position, reports to the Pastor, and works closely with parish staff, volunteers, and outside contractors.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and cleanliness of all parish buildings and grounds.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules
Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate volunteers as appropriate
Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and diocesan policies
Assist with capital projects, renovations, and long‑range facilities planning
Monitor facilities budgets and control expenses responsibly
Support parish liturgical and special events by ensuring facilities readiness
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in facilities management or building maintenance
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
Strong organizational, supervisory, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to emergencies
Respect for and support of the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
Prior experience in a parish, school, or nonprofit setting preferred
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or degree preferred
Valid driver’s license
Ability to lift, climb, and perform physical tasks associated with facilities work
Compensation Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and qualifications, in accordance with diocesan guidelines.
