What Your Day Will Look Like
As a structure representative, you’ll provide technical oversight of bridge and structure construction projects including review and acceptance of the contractor’s structure‑related submittals, providing oversight of construction inspectors, and quality assurance of structure work on the project including bridges, retaining walls and other structures. You’ll perform independent reviews of structure‑related submittals including falsework, excavation shoring, prestressing, piling of driven piles and CIDH piles. You’ll develop bridge deck, soffit, column elevations, perform structure‑related surveying including grading bridge decks. The structure representative reports to the project director.
Salary Range: $110,000 to $200,000
What You’ll Do
Coordinate with the contractor, construction inspectors, and project documentation of the project progress.
Maintain accurate records of structures construction site activities, providing required technical reports and providing guidance to structure inspectors and materials testers.
Collaborate with other engineers and inspectors, including the Resident Engineer, project design engineers, and construction inspectors.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Minimum ten years of building construction management experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Field job primarily operates in outdoor work environments that may include exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.
Physical demands may include frequent talking, hearing, standing, moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, balancing, coordination, and occasional sitting or operating a company vehicle. This job may require lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
