
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Manager

Brief Description
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Manager is responsible for architecting and executing the backbone of our digital marketing efforts. This role designs and manages data-driven, automated journeys to ensure the right messages reach the right members at the right time, driving engagement and influencing behavior across channels. In addition, this position provides leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring alignment across campaigns, maintaining best practices, and fostering professional development within the marketing team.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and manage member journeys in Salesforce Marketing Cloud Journey Builder, utilizing workflow automations and SQL as necessary
Build and maintain data extensions based on advanced segmentation strategies and SQL queries
Build emails with dynamic content to personalize messaging, utilizing AMPscript where necessary
Manage list uploads, conduct testing, and deploy emails and SMS messages
Create forms and associated landing pages utilizing HTML as necessary
Collaborate with the Data Team to integrate Marketing Cloud with Salesforce CRM and other systems
Develop journey, campaign and A/B testing reports to guide continuous improvement and decision making
Oversee deliverability monitoring and marketing data hygiene
Lead, mentor, and manage additional marketing team members, providing direction, feedback, and support to ensure successful execution of marketing initiatives
Partner with members of the Data, Marketing, IT, Product, Services, and Account Management Teams on data flows, campaigns and projects
Stay up to date on Marketing Cloud features, best practices, and email marketing compliance
Other related duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years management experience leading team members
5+ years of hands‑on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Email Studio, Journey Builder, and Automation Studio
Proficiency in SQL for segmentation and query building
Experience writing AMPscript and/or SSJS for dynamic content and personalization
Basic HTML skills for form and landing page creation
Expertise with customer data sets, list creation and segmentation
Experience with campaign performance analysis and reportingExcellent communication skills; ability to translate business requirements into technical execution
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Strong project management skills
Preferred
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, Developer and/or Administrator certifications
CloudPages experience in building forms and landing pages
HTML, CSS, and responsive email template development skills
Familiarity with data integration via API or Marketing Cloud Connect
Experience with setting up SMS campaigns via Mobile Studio
