KAIT 8 is currently in search of a dynamic and creative individual who possesses passion and energy for generating captivating Sports coverage, crafting written content to complement video, and delivering engaging live shots on-air and online. As a member of the K8 Sports team, you will be self-motivated and driven, consistently striving for excellence each day. As a Sports Anchor/MMJ, you will play a vital role in delivering accurate, engaging, and compelling sports coverage.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Post Sports reports online to the station website and social media platforms.
Utilize various resources, including local community contacts, press releases, digital media, and wire services, to gather information for Sports content and features.
Collaborate with the Sports Director, producers, reporters, and news management to stay updated on breaking Sports news and developing stories.
Conduct live on-location Sports reporting during breaking Sports news, events, and community happenings, demonstrating engaging Sports reporting skills and the ability to think on your feet.
Maintain composure and deliver clear and concise live Sports reporting even in high-pressure situations.
Serve as the anchor for weekend Sports presenting scores and features with clarity, professionalism, and poise.
Write, edit, and proofread Sports scripts for your anchor segments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to station standards.
Collaborate with the Sports Director, producers, and the news team to select relevant Sports features, developing a strong understanding of regional Sporting events and local Sports trends.
Will have to travel to different local locations for Sports coverage.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
Basic experience with newsroom computer systems is preferred (ENPS)
Understanding of and adherence to AP Style (for digital platforms) and broadcast writing (for television).
Ability to operate a field camera, editing, and lighting equipment
Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Ability to represent the station professionally/responsibly in the community and newsroom, and on social media
Must have a desire to win, the ability to reflect on your work, and apply feedback

Job Summary/Description: KAIT-TV is looking for the next morning anchor for the #1 rated \"Good Morning Region 8.\" The ideal candidate will be a passionate journalist, aggressive about covering local news. You should be an energetic \"morning person\" who confidently delivers the news viewers need to start their days. We need an anchor who is involved in the day-to-day operations of the newsroom, including developing and turning enterprise and investigative content.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Anchoring at least 2.5 hours of news a day
Collaborating and assisting producers with the treatment and writing of new content
Researching, gathering, shooting, writing, and editing news stories for on-air and online
Completing regular franchises or special investigative reports
Writing in a clear, concise, conversational manner
Reporting \"live\" on the scene during breaking news or weather
Developing and maintaining sources of information
Demonstrating sound news judgment
Participating in story selection meetings
Posting and regularly updating stories and other material on the web and social media
Interacting with viewers on social media, including regular presence on Facebook Live
Meeting tight deadlines and working well under pressure
Performing other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

At least two years of experience in a commercial newsroom
Bachelor's in journalism or related field preferred
