Role Description

This is a remote role for a Director of Public Relations & Advocacy, headquartered in New York, NY. The Director of Public Relations & Advocacy will strengthen AANO’s public presence and promotes awareness of issues important to the Albanian‑American community. This board role focuses on media outreach, public representation, and community engagement to elevate the voice and visibility of Albanian‑Americans. Responsibilities include crafting press releases, managing media relations, implementing strategic communications, and serving as a spokesperson for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote AANO programs, initiatives, and events through media and public communication.
• Build relationships with local, national, and Albanian diaspora media outlets.
• Represent AANO at community events, conferences, and cultural programs.
• Increase public awareness of issues affecting the Albanian‑American community.
• Support advocacy initiatives related to culture, human rights, and community development.
• Collaborate with the board on messaging, communications, and outreach campaigns.
• Assist with digital and social media efforts highlighting Albanian‑American achievements.
• Help expand membership engagement and public participation in AANO activities.
• Promote visibility and participation for major events such as conventions, summits, and community forums.

• Strong communication and public speaking skills
