Field Commercial Casualty Production Underwriter | Remote

Our client, a top-rated insurance carrier, is expanding their underwriting department and seeking to add a Field Commercial Casualty Production Underwriter to their team. This person will be responsible for underwriting and pricing new and renewal Commercial Casualty business within the Excess & Surplus (E&S) market. Working closely with producers, this role focuses on soliciting new business, managing renewals, and ensuring underwriting profitability across the Vermont and Western Massachusetts territory. This is a fully remote position with a company vehicle!
Assess individual risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions for complex surplus lines commercial casualty policies. Develop, analyze, and evaluate information to identify exposures and make well-informed underwriting decisions. Visit producers / wholesale brokers Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, assisting in client retention and achieving mutual business growth. Achieve established production and loss ratio targets for the assigned regional territory. Maintain awareness of market trends and competitive landscape to drive new business opportunities.
Qualifications: 3 - 7+ years experience in Commercial Casualty underwriting, preferably in the surplus lines/E&S market. Must have Production Underwriting and/or Territory Marketing experience. Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building producer relationships. Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
