About the Role
The Company is in search of an AVP for Excess Casualty Claims to take on a newly created leadership role. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Claims organization, with a strong emphasis on talent development, and aligning people development efforts with the company's goals. This role involves promoting a workplace environment that values open communication and teamwork, as well as steering the overall direction of claims strategies and performance measures. The AVP will work closely with internal stakeholders, including Underwriting, Risk Management, and Actuarial, to ensure clear and consistent communication regarding claim developments and to facilitate the exchange of insights related to market activity and emerging loss patterns.
Applicants for the AVP position should have a Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience in people management. Deep expertise in excess energy claims is a key requirement, along with strong analytical and communication skills. The role also involves overseeing financial discipline within the Claims function, ensuring accurate and prompt claim reserving, and participating in various legal proceedings as necessary. The ideal candidate will be adept at shaping operational targets, priorities, and budget planning, and will be expected to contribute to special projects and additional assignments as needed.
