Director, Inventory Strategy & Optimization
Are you looking to take on a strategic leadership role driving enterprise-wide inventory optimization and supply chain performance? This exciting opportunity as a Director, Inventory Strategy & Optimization offers the chance to lead inventory strategy, reduce waste, improve service levels, and implement scalable best practices across multiple locations. This role is ideal for a strong supply chain leader with expertise in inventory economics, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities: Lead the enterprise inventory strategy and replenishment analytics initiatives across the organization. Build, develop, and lead a high-performing inventory optimization and analytics team through coaching and capability development. Define and maintain inventory policies including segmentation strategies, service levels, safety stock models, and DIOH targets. Deliver actionable insights on inventory health, GMROI, cost structures, and service-level trade-offs to senior leadership. Influence sourcing, procurement, and assortment decisions using inventory and margin analytics. Prioritize inventory optimization and analytics initiatives based on enterprise value and measurable business impact. Ensure analytical assumptions and reporting methodologies align with Finance and executive leadership expectations. Drive organizational adoption and trust in inventory planning tools, policies, and replenishment strategies. Manage inventory and replenishment system policies including segmentation, service levels, buying parameters, and replenishment targets. Improve adoption, automation, and continuous improvement of system-generated replenishment targets and processes. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Experience: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. Five (5) + years of experience in inventory management, replenishment planning, supply chain analytics, procurement analytics, or related fields. Strong expertise in inventory economics, GMROI, service-level trade-offs, and working capital optimization. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate complex data into executive-level insights. Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across Operations, Procurement, Finance, Commercial teams, and IT. Experience leading and developing high-performing analytics or optimization teams. Ability to drive adoption of analytical tools, inventory policies, and system-driven recommendations.
