Job Overview : We are seeking a skilled Electrician specializing in home standby generator installation and maintenance . The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and servicing residential standby generator systems to ensure safe and reliable backup power solutions for homeowners. Key Responsibilities :
* Install and wire residential standby generators and automatic transfer switches (ATS) * Perform electrical panel upgrades and service connections as needed * Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer specifications * Ensure all installations meet local, state, and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards * Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform repairs or replacements * Conduct routine maintenance and system inspections * Test generator systems to ensure proper automatic operation * Coordinate with utility companies and inspectors when required * Educate homeowners on proper generator operation and safety * Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Required Qualifications :
* 3+ years electrical experience * Experience with residential electrical systems * Knowledge of standby generator systems and transfer switches * Familiarity with NEC codes and local building codes * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills * Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications :
* Experience installing generators from brands such as: * * Generac * Kohler
* HVAC or gas line connection knowledge * OSHA certification * Customer service experience
Physical Requirements :
* Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 lbs). * Comfortability working in confined spaces, on rooftops, or in harsh weather conditions. * Ability to work on ladders or scaffolding as needed.
