Public Relations Specialist We create and deliver tailored marketing strategies for Expedia Group’s brands, focusing on establishing strong connections and cohesive experiences for travelers and partners. We leverage our functional expertise and creative excellence to build trust and loyalty for our brands through innovative marketing approaches and technology. The position is based in Los Angeles or New York and reports to the Head of U.S. Media Relations, working closely with the broader Global Communications team. What You’ll Do Support the development and execution of U.S. PR plans, including drafting press releases, pitches, and media materials for Expedia, Hotels.com, and Vrbo. Engage regularly with national and regional media across multiple verticals and mediums to secure impactful coverage. Help ensure consistent brand presence in consumer and lifestyle media by identifying creative pitch angles, trends, and data‑driven insights. Collaborate with internal partners to gather story ideas, data, and updates to support media outreach. Build, maintain, and update media lists to ensure accurate and relevant contact information. Own and maintain an editorial calendar. Prepare briefing documents to support internal spokespeople ahead of media interviews. Track, analyze, and report on press coverage to evaluate reach, quality, and alignment with brand priorities. Assist with press events by contributing ideas, managing media lists and RSVPs, and providing on‑site support, including media check‑in and post‑event recaps. Experience and Qualifications 2+ years of experience in agency or in‑house public relations, multi‑brand communications, and/or a news or editorial environment. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience. Experience securing coverage with top‑tier U.S. media outlets, including broadcast. Existing media relationships within travel, consumer, or lifestyle categories preferred. A creative storyteller with strong organizational and project coordination skills. Proficient in written and verbal communication skills, with close attention to detail. Comfortable working both collaboratively and autonomously in a dynamic environment. Experience in large, matrixed organizations is a plus. Compensation The total cash range for this position in West Hollywood is $67,500.00 to $94,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $108,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. The total cash range for this position in New York is $72,500.00 to $101,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $116,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
