
Client Tax Analyst

Our client's Operations Tax Compliance (OTC) team is a cross-divisional group supporting the firm’s broader Client Tax Operations function. The team plays a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance across the end-to-end tax processing lifecycle for Institutional, Wealth Management, Retail, and Stock Plan client accounts. The OTC team is currently seeking an Analyst to support a Quality Assurance project tied to the integration of a newly acquired business. This role will focus heavily on the review and validation of IRS tax documentation, including W-8 and W-9 forms, while also supporting broader tax compliance testing and control enhancement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Execute Tax Operations Quality Assurance (QA) testing across tax-related production processes
Review and validate IRS tax forms, including W-8 and W-9 documentation
Support QA testing across the full tax processing lifecycle to ensure alignment with internal controls and regulatory requirements
Assist with oversight related to various tax reporting and withholding regimes, including:
IRS Chapters 3, 4, and 61
Canadian Tax Reporting and Withholding Obligations
Identify control gaps, exceptions, and areas for process improvement
Contribute to strategic initiatives and special projects, including process automation and operational enhancement efforts
Partner with internal stakeholders to help strengthen and mature the firm’s Tax Compliance control environment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant work experience
1–3 years of financial services experience, ideally within Operations Tax or a related operations/compliance function
1–3 years of hands‑on experience reviewing and validating IRS tax forms, specifically W-8 and W-9 series
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret tax rules and apply logic accurately
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Solid problem‑solving abilities and sound professional judgment
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
