Employee Relations & Investigations Specialist RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Employee Relations & Investigations Specialist to join our Human Resources Center of Expertise. In this role, you will partner with HR Business Partners and leaders across the system to address complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, and HR compliance issues. The Employee Relations & Investigations Specialist serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and HR Business Partners by providing guidance on employee relations concerns, conducting HR investigations, and supporting a respectful, compliant workplace environment.

Responsibilities

Providing consultation and guidance to HR Business Partners and leaders on employee relations matters, policy interpretation, and HR compliance.

Triaging employee relations concerns based on urgency and potential risk.

Conducting timely and thorough workplace investigations, including identifying relevant policies, documentation, and stakeholders.

Interviewing complainants, respondents, witnesses, and subject‑matter experts during HR investigations.

Preparing clear, well‑organized investigation reports with recommendations.

Maintaining accurate case documentation within the HR case management system (e.g., HR Acuity).

Identifying trends across employee relations cases and partnering with HR leadership to address potential risks.

Supporting training initiatives that strengthen understanding of employee relations policies and workplace expectations.

Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality throughout sensitive employee relations matters and workplace investigations.

Qualifications

You are comfortable navigating complex employee relations issues and workplace investigations.

You demonstrate strong judgment and can analyze sensitive situations objectively.

You are skilled at interviewing employees and gathering information during HR investigations.

You can write clear, concise investigation summaries and recommendations.

You enjoy partnering with HR Business Partners and leaders to resolve workplace concerns.

You are detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple employee relations cases.

You bring empathy, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive employee relations matters.

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have a bachelor's degree, ideally in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, along with 3–5 years of Human Resources experience supporting employee relations matters and workplace investigations. You bring a strong understanding of employment laws and HR compliance, as well as experience working with HR systems such as HR Acuity or PeopleSoft. This position is hybrid and requires travel throughout New Jersey to support leaders across the RWJBarnabas Health system.
