Job Description
When a Soldier has a question about benefits, policy, or needs help with a sensitive issue, the Army National Guard’s Human Resources Specialist is the primary go-to person. As an HR Specialist, you will help Soldiers develop their Guard careers and provide personnel support and assistance to all divisions within the Guard.
Responsibilities
Organize, maintain, and review personnel records, including data entry and retrieval.
Process recommendations and prepare, update, and coordinate requests for evaluations.
Arrange awards ceremonies.
Prepare and monitor Soldier requests for ID cards, tags, leaves of absence, and passes.
Order and maintain office supplies and filing systems.
Assist on all human resource support matters.
Oversee all strength management and strength distribution actions.
Ensure the readiness, health, and welfare of all Soldiers.
Provide postal and personnel accountability support.
Maintain emergency notification data.
Helpful Skills
Aptitude for business administration.
Ability to follow detailed orders.
Sound people skills.
Training and Education Soldiers will receive 10 weeks of Basic Training, 9 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, and on-the-job instruction to develop basic typing skills, prepare Army correspondence and forms, manage personnel records, and perform computer update and retrieval procedures.

Requirements

Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
Must meet citizenship requirements.
