
Associate Underwriter

Responsibilities
Assist and support underwriters with new and renewal business including rating, form selection, binding, policy issuance and invoicing.
Perform quality control of various documents including quotes, policies, endorsements, cancellations and invoices.
Handle a high volume workload in a fast‑paced environment, maintaining excellent service standards.
Deliver high quality service to wholesale broker customers.
Learn the underwriting process and appetite and assist underwriters with new business, endorsement and renewal underwriting.
Evaluate submissions, renewals and inspection info as part of the underwriting process.
Work closely with wholesale brokers to develop relationships and enhance their understanding of the company’s underwriting rationale, philosophy and criteria.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
2+ years of property and casualty underwriting support experience.
Underwriting support in excess and surplus lines environment strongly preferred.
Proficient in policy and workflow insurance applications.
High energy and desire to learn.
