AVP / Director – Enterprise Risk Management (ERM Actuary)

A global specialty insurance organization is seeking an AVP / Director, ERM Actuary to join its Enterprise Risk Management team. This is a high‑visibility role with direct exposure to senior leadership, focused on casualty and professional liability risk, accumulation analytics, and group‑level risk reporting. This position offers a blend of hands‑on analytical work and strategic leadership, ideal for someone who enjoys deep problem‑solving, business‑oriented risk insights, and improving ERM processes through structure and automation.
What You’ll Do Casualty & Professional Liability Accumulation
Lead group‑wide casualty accumulation analytics from data pipeline design to executive‑ready insights
Partner closely with business units to validate assumptions and interpret results
Collaborate with data engineering teams to design scalable, automated solutions
Model complex reinsurance protections and tail‑risk exposures
Risk Assessment & Group Reporting
Drive enterprise‑wide risk assessment processes across domestic and international entities
Translate analytical findings into clear, decision‑ready insights for senior executives
Prepare and review group‑level ERM reports for leadership, rating agencies, and regulators
Emerging Risk & Strategic Research
Evaluate exposure to cyber risk and potential systemic events
Research climate change, artificial intelligence, and other emerging risks impacting P&C portfolios and investments
Develop casualty stress scenarios and author ERM thought leadership for internal distribution
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in casualty or professional liability insurance or reinsurance
ACAS or FCAS strongly preferred
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytical mindset with sound business judgment
Ability to lead complex projects from concept through executive communication
Comfortable working directly with data, models, and analytical workflows
Proficiency in Excel; experience with data visualization and ETL workflows a plus
Interest in automation and AI‑enabled tools to improve efficiency a plus
