AI Startup Co-Founder — Incubator Partner
AI2 Incubator, Seattle, WA, United States
This isn't a job. It's your company.
The AI2 Incubator is looking for technical founders and deep domain experts ready to build applied AI companies that solve real-world problems. We don't hire you — we partner with you, invest in you, and work alongside you to turn your idea into a funded, scalable startup.
Born out of the Allen Institute for AI nearly a decade before ChatGPT put AI on the map, we've helped launch dozens of startups — with multiple exits to Apple, DocuSign, Thomson Reuters, and more. Over 90% of our incubated companies go on to raise venture funding.
What you get as a founder here:
Up to $600K invested on founder-friendly terms (SAFE, $10M cap).
Up to $1M in free, non-dilutive cloud compute.
Up to 12 months of intensive, hands‑on company‑building support — not a 3‑month bootcamp.
Access to AI House in Seattle, a thriving hub of researchers, investors, and operators.
A dedicated team helping with AI architecture, product design, go‑to‑market, hiring, fundraising, and customer introductions.
A network of 200+ VC relationships, including Khosla Ventures, Spark Capital, Lux Capital, Madrona, and Jeff Bezos Expeditions.
We work with roughly 15 startups per year — not 400. You get real attention, not a logo on a slide.
Who we're looking for: Technical founders with breakthrough AI ideas who need help turning research into a business. Domain experts from industries like healthcare, financial services, energy, logistics, legal, or government who see problems AI can solve — and want to team up with world‑class engineers to build the solution. You don't need a deck, an MBA, or a PhD. You need conviction, grit, and a problem worth solving.
What makes us different:
No board seats.
No taking 30%+ of your company.
Our incubation economics are held in common stock — the same share class you hold.
We build alongside you, not above you.
Rolling admissions, so you start when you're ready.
No relocation required (though Seattle's door is always open).
Our team has been in your shoes. Our directors have co‑founded startups, scaled companies from zero to acquisition, and published hundreds of technical papers. We know what it takes to go from zero to one because we've done it ourselves.
