The Opportunity We’re seeking a
senior Learning Leader / Instructional Designer
to build and modernize
training and apprenticeship programs
across machining, fabrication/welding, and assembly operations.
This is a
high-impact, hands‑on role
for someone who can design
applied, skills‑based learning in a precision manufacturing environment . You’ll partner directly with leadership and shop‑floor teams to create scalable, certification‑driven training programs from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
Design
end‑to‑end training programs
for skilled trades and apprenticeship pathways
Translate
SOPs into structured, applied learning journeys
(learn → practice → apply → certify)
Build
skill progression frameworks (Levels 1–3)
tied to demonstrated capability
Develop
instructor guides, learner materials, and assessments
Establish
certification standards and evaluation criteria
Partner with
SMEs, supervisors, and operations leaders
to ensure accuracy and adoption
Evaluate and enhance
existing apprenticeship programs and talent pipelines
Ensure alignment with
regulatory, audit, and quality requirements
Travel onsite (Cincinnati) during key phases to support discovery and rollout
What You Bring
10+ years in
instructional design, learning strategy, or workforce development
Experience building
hands‑on training in manufacturing, industrial, or skilled trades environments
Exposure to
machining, CNC/CAM, fabrication, welding, or complex assembly
strongly preferred
Proven ability to
translate SOPs into structured training and certification programs
Experience in
regulated environments
(defense, aerospace, nuclear, heavy manufacturing, etc.)
Comfortable working in
ambiguous, build‑from‑scratch environments
Willingness to
travel onsite as needed
