Mount Pisgah Academy, a Seventh-day Adventist boarding academy in Candler, North Carolina, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Plant Services Director.
This role supports the maintenance, repair, and overall operation of campus facilities. The Assistant Plant Services Director will work closely with the Plant Services Director and Principal to ensure that all buildings and systems are well‑maintained and functioning effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the maintenance and repair of campus facilities (including general, mechanical, and preventative maintenance)
Supervise and mentor student workers in a hands‑on work environment
Teach a Life Skills class in an area of expertise (with a practical, applied focus)
Assist with transportation needs, including driving school vehicles as required (CDL required or willingness to obtain)
Support campus operations through additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Mechanical or maintenance experience preferred
Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
Ability to mentor and positively influence young people
Willingness to support the mission and values of Mount Pisgah Academy
This is a full‑time salaried position. On‑campus housing is available at a reasonable rate.
Candidates should be in good standing with the Seventh‑day Adventist church and have the legal right to work within the United States.
Required Experience Applicants should have post‑secondary training with a trade certificate or extensive experience in the responsibilities mentioned. A bachelor’s degree in physical plant management or industrial arts is preferred. Applicants should have a working knowledge of auto repair and/or plumbing.
