Pay Rate (On-Demand): $79.00 - $84.00 per hour
Position Overview
SMX Services & Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior MAS 9.1 (Maximo) Consultant to support a federal facilities environment. This is a part-time, on-demand role providing expert-level consulting, technical support, reporting, and system guidance within a secure USDA environment.
The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), delivering both hands-on support and strategic recommendations to optimize system performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert support for MAS 9.1 configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization
Develop monthly reports, ad hoc queries, and perform data analysis
Design and optimize SQL queries; provide database-related support
Coordinate application and database activities with IT stakeholders
Implement system updates, patches, and configuration changes
Gather and analyze requirements for system enhancements
Provide best practices, recommendations, and long-term system strategy
Required Skills & Expertise
Strong expertise in IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9.1
Experience with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) in facilities environments
Proficiency in SQL and database management (query design, performance tuning, reporting)
Experience with WebSphere Application Server administration
Knowledge of Applications Designer, Automation Scripting, and Conditional UI
Experience with MAS integration technologies (object structures, services, channels)
Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities (e.g., work orders, lifecycle trends)
Experience with system maintenance, patching, and performance optimization
Familiarity with LDAP, security, and authentication protocols
Strong requirements analysis and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to function as a cross-functional SME
Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years of experience with IBM Maximo / MAS
Proven experience with installation, upgrades, and patching of MAS environments
Demonstrated experience supporting MAS within facilities or EAM environments
Strong technical proficiency across required skill areas

Work Schedule
Approximately 240 hours per year
Work performed on an as-needed, on-demand basis

Fully remote via secure VPN access

This is a part-time consulting opportunity for a senior MAS 9.1 expert to deliver end-to-end technical support, system optimization, and strategic guidance over a potential three-year period (base + option years).
