Director Of Fund Development And Communications
Reports To: Executive Director
Position Description Summary: The Director of Resource Development will manage the ASAC resource development program, including but not limited to individual gifts, corporate gifts/sponsors, planned giving, capital campaigns, in-kind donations and communication strategy
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in marketing, philanthropy, nonprofit management, social services, business or related field, MA preferred
Knowledge fundraising and development research and best practices
- A minimum of three years of experience of increasing responsibility in raising funds in a non-profit setting through diversified and comprehensive fund development and communications, five years or more experience preferred
- Proven record in achieving fund development goals
- Experience in managing social media and marketing initiatives.
Ability to work on a daily basis utilizing standard office equipment.
Ability to use computer system, software and to work well technology.
Ability to use independent judgment, analytical/decision-making skills, verbal and written communication skills, human relations skills, team working skills, and organizational skills.
This position consists of frequent sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead the strategic development, planning and implementation of ASAC fund development and communications activities to meet short and long term goals in accordance with ASAC's mission, vision and strategic plan
- Engage the ASAC Executive Leadership and Board of Directors in fundraising efforts
- Lead ASAC's grant application process for grants, including working with leadership team and grant writer in grant planning, researching and writing for funding opportunities that support the ASAC mission, vision and strategic plan, and completing grant renewals
- Develop and execute a donor focused individual gifts program, including prospect research resulting in annual growth in donors
- Develop and execute a business sponsorship program
- Plan, promote, and implement special events to develop prospective donors
- Track and report progress and results of all fund development strategies
- Support maintaining accurate constituent data for effective fundraising and communications strategies
- Supervise the timely and effective acknowledgement of all gifts and recognition of donors
- Develop/update fund development policies and procedures to accurately reflect agency and best practices
- Develop donor communications materials, online giving and expand development website presence
- Coordinate and promote the agency's non-monetary donation needs, collection and distribution
- Coordinate ASAC's donated human resources of volunteers and interns by promoting volunteer opportunities, reviewing applications, matching talent with program needs, and maintaining records
- Develop and execute an endowment/planned giving program
- In collaboration with staff, provide leadership on development and implementation of the agency communications plan and strategy for both agency wide and program specific needs
- Manage agency social media accounts to promote agency needs and services as well as grant related topics
- Prepare, review and disseminate agency communications including press releases, articles, agency newsletters, annual reports, and other strategies to promote the outcomes, needs, services, special events, areas of expertise, and grant related topics of interest to the community
- Guide staff in the implementation of agency branding and communications standards
- Collaborate with agency leadership staff to develop and implement plans for agency improvements
- Collaborate to manage ASAC's public email distribution list-serves (MailChimp)

- Demonstrate involvement as a team member, regardless of where primary duties lie, by positively contributing to the overall agency operations.
- Submit paperwork and meet job responsibility deadlines as assigned.
- Maintain all required license, certifications and related CEUs.
- Know and perform job duties in a safe manner.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management staff.
