Our client is seeking a
Director of Facilities Operations
to provide strategic and operational leadership for a large, complex campus environment. This role oversees integrated facilities management (IFM) services including physical plant operations, custodial services, grounds, construction and capital projects, and multiple soft‑services functions.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned facilities leader with strong financial acumen, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior executives, frontline teams, and client‑partners. This position requires hands‑on leadership in a fast‑paced, multi‑building environment with diverse operational needs.

Requirements
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, utilities, and building systems.
Manage an annual operating budget of up to $9M, ensuring strong financial controls, forecasting accuracy, and value optimization.
Direct capital and construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership and client stakeholders, translating operational and financial data into actionable insights.
Supervise and develop a multi‑disciplinary team, including skilled trades, supervisors, and frontline staff (union and non‑union)
Oversee vendor management, contract performance, inventory, and logistics across multiple service lines.
Lead integrated facilities operations across physical plant, custodial, grounds, and soft services with a focus on safety, reliability, and service excellence.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
5+ years of management experience leading facilities, engineering, or operations teams.
5+ years of functional experience in integrated facilities management (IFM), including physical plant, custodial, grounds, and/or construction operations.
Demonstrated experience managing multi‑million‑dollar operating and/or capital budgets with forecasting and financial accountability.
Proven experience engaging and influencing senior executives in a complex operational environment.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and progressive facilities leadership experience.
Preferred Skills
Experience supervising unionized frontline teams.
Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS/BMS)
Demonstrated success delivering capital or renovation projects.
Experience supporting large institutional environments (higher education, healthcare, research, or similar campus‑style settings)
Strong understanding of safety programs, compliance standards, and physical plant operations.
Proficiency with CMMS/EAM systems (e.g., Maximo, Brightly, Archibus, FM:Systems)
