
Extreme Kids Activity Leader

The Extreme Kids Activity Leader is responsible for planning, executing and leading safe summer recreational activities for school-age children.
Anticipated start date for this position: June 1, 2026
Responsibilities
Creates clear, detailed daily lesson plans and determines supply and equipment needs.
Takes primary responsibility for executing lesson plans, and the coordination, supervision and leadership of recreational activities.
Ensures open proactive communication between parents and staff members, including discussing and documenting participants’ behaviors and implementing behavior modification plans as needed.
Serves as a positive role model and leader to fellow staff members and youth participants.
Supervises and participates with groups of youth in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities including crafts, games, socialization, health/wellness and field trips.
Adheres to the goals, theme and schedule of the program to ensure youth receive a consistent, high quality experience.
Assists with program administration by taking accurate daily attendance counts.
Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.
Education and Experience
Two years of experience programming recreational activities for youth ages 6 – 12
One year of post high-school course work related to working with school-age children
Experience implementing youth activities and supervising youth in groups of 10-20
Must be at least 18 years of age
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED and Blood Borne Pathogens or willingness to complete certification within 30 days of hire; training will be provided for those not certified
Ability to communicate with youth, program staff and parents in a positive and responsive manner that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships
Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity
Leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively and motivate others
Time management and organizational skills, ability to prioritize and delegate tasks
Other Requirements
Ability to commit to the entire 10-week program, and completion of all paid staff training of approximately 10-15 hours prior the start of the program
