Description: Diversified Systems is searching for a Cloud Specialist who supports the design, implementation, and operation of the agency's public cloud environment under the direction of the Cloud Specialist Team Lead. The role requires experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, knowledge of networking and security fundamentals, and familiarity with scripting or automation tools, with preferred experience in hybrid environments, compliance frameworks, and enterprise cloud deployments.
Responsibilities:
Deploying and maintaining cloud infrastructure, assisting with cloud migrations, supporting integration with on-premises systems, and implementing automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions. Works closely with infrastructure, development, and security teams to ensure cloud services are secure, scalable, and aligned with agency standards and regulatory requirements such as NIST and IRS 1075. Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, applying security configurations, and maintaining documentation.
Requirements :
5-7 years: Cloud Platform OS Management (AWS/Azure VM environments), Required, Provisioning configuration and maintenance of cloud virtual machines. 5-7 years: Windows Server, Required, Management of Windows-based workloads and Active Directory integration. 5-7 years: Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu), Required, Administration troubleshooting and support of cloud-hosted systems. 3-5 years: PowerShell, Required, Automation scripting and system administration tasks. 3-5 years: Python or Bash Scripting, Required, Automation troubleshooting and task execution. 3-5 years: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / ARM / CloudFormation), Required, Basic deployment and management of cloud infrastructure. 3-5 years: Virtual Infrastructure (VMware/Hypervisor), Required, Understanding of virtualized environments and cloud/on-prem integration. 3-5 years: Server Hardware Fundamentals, Required, Basic knowledge of server components, storage, and performance concepts. 3-5 years: Storage Systems (SAN/NAS/Backup Appliances), Required, Familiarity with storage concepts and backup platforms (e.g., Cohesity). 3-5 years: SQL Server / Relational Databases, Preferred, Basic database support, backup, and connectivity troubleshooting. 3-5 years: Cloud Database Services (Azure SQL / AWS RDS), Required, Understanding of managed database services in cloud environments. 3-5 years: Database Backup and Recovery Concepts, Preferred, Knowledge of backup strategies, recovery, and data protection. 3-5 years: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / ARM / CloudFormation), Preferred, Basic deployment and automation of cloud infrastructure. 3-5 years: Cloud Architecture and Deployment Best Practices, Required, Understanding of scalable, secure, and reliable cloud design principles. 3-5 years: IT Service Management (Change / Incident / Problem Management), Required, Familiarity with structured IT operations and service delivery processes. 3-5 years: Deployment Validation and Post-Implementation Testing, Required, Verify cloud resources and configurations after deployment.
