
Multimedia Recreation Attendant - Part-Time

Job Summary
The Multimedia Recreation Attendant (Part‑Time) supports the City of DeSoto's Parks and Recreation Department by developing engaging, informative, and accessible digital content that promotes city programs, services, events, and initiatives.
Responsibilities
Create and publish content for the Department’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, etc.)
Develop short‑form videos, graphics, and written content highlighting department services, events and community stories
Assist in maintaining and executing the Department’s content calendar
Capture photo and video content at city events, meetings, and community programs
Ensure all content aligns with City branding, messaging, and accessibility standards
Collaborate with departments to translate complex information into clear, public‑friendly content
Monitor social media engagement and respond or elevate inquiries as appropriate
Track and report basic analytics (engagement, reach, impressions)
Stay informed on social media trends and recommend innovative approaches for civic engagement
Perform other assigned duties
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (preferred)
Two (2) years of experience in content creation, social media management, or digital communications, or equivalent training/education/experience
Valid driver’s license
Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays
Supplemental Information
Knowledge of City policies and procedures
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify government information
Photography, videography, audio, and editing skills
Professionalism and accuracy in public communications
Time management and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to operate small equipment used in job duties
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with City administration, employees, and the general public
