A Housing Specialist with our HCV program manages participant cases and ensures compliance. They verify eligibility, conduct recertifications, coordinate with landlords, ensure units meet standards, and support families in maintaining housing.
Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in administrative services, housing management, real estate, or social services. Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Job Duties
Eligibility & Intake: Verify income, household composition, and determine program eligibility
Recertifications: Complete annual and interim reexaminations of participant information
Case Management: Maintain and manage assigned caseloads and files
Compliance: Ensure participants follow program rules and HUD regulations
Landlord Coordination: Process leases, HAP contracts, and communicate with property owners
Inspections: Coordinate and track Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspections
Rent Calculations: Determine tenant rent portions and subsidy amounts
Customer Service: Respond to participant and landlord inquiries and resolve issues
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records and update required systems
