Medical Records Coding Specialist

Dentistry | Dental Faculty Practice
This position will serve as a Medical Billing Specialist and customer service specialist for the Dental Faculty Practice OMFS. Responsibilities include coding medical and dental claims, submitting prior authorizations, handling appeals, managing patient billing, sending Good Faith Estimates, managing A/R and collections, and updating spreadsheets for communication.
Technical Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Epic (or other EHR / medical billing interface).
Experience with medical and dental coding.
Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask with minimal errors, and follow‑up skills.
Soft Skills
Excellent customer service and problem‑solving skills.
Work Schedule Onsite, Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Physical Requirements Primarily office work, prolonged keyboard use, ability to lift 25 lbs with or without accommodation.
Experience and Education
Required: High School diploma or GED; 4+ years relevant experience.
Desired: 6+ years relevant experience preferred; Associate degree preferred.
Certification or vocational training may be required.
Background check and drug & alcohol screening required.
