Mortgage Closing Specialist
for an onsite opportunity in
Meriden, CT . In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and ensuring the accuracy of all documentation required to complete approved mortgage mitigation events in accordance with investor guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare documentation for Modifications, Deed in Lieu, and Short Sales in compliance with investor rules and internal policies.
Order and review title reports and original loan documents to ensure clear title for closing.
Coordinate document recording with PHL's vendor partners.
Maintain comprehensive tracking reports for outstanding documents from borrowers, title companies, vendors, and recorder’s offices.
Address and resolve document or title deficiencies promptly.
Verify closing costs for short sales are compliant with investor guidelines.
Assist Mitigation Processors and Underwriters in obtaining and imaging required documentation.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous experience with mortgage loan documentation.
Solid understanding of real estate title requirements.
Background in mortgage default servicing and modification programs is a plus.
Strong computer proficiency, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience with the MSP servicing system is a plus.
Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively across departments.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care.
