Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
Execute Esquire’s social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms
Produce and edit short‑form, social‑first video—primarily on mobile—for red carpets, premieres, live events, and in‑office shoots
Write compelling, platform‑specific social copy that captures Esquire’s distinct voice and drives engagement
Package and publish editorial content using best practices tailored to each platform
Monitor trends, breaking news, and cultural moments to inform timely and relevant content
Collaborate with editors, video producers, and audience teams to create engaging social storytelling
Test new formats, tools, and platform features to expand reach and audience growth
Track performance metrics and apply insights to optimize future content and publishing strategies
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
2+ years of experience in social media, preferably within a magazine, publisher, or digital media brand
Strong mobile video production skills, including shooting and editing with an understanding of lighting, audio, pacing, and vertical storytelling
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or CapCut, with familiarity using native platform editing tools
Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft sharp, engaging, and voice‑driven social copy
Deep knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and emerging social platforms
Experience covering live events, red carpets, or fast‑moving cultural moments is a plus
Familiarity with analytics and publishing tools such as SocialFlow, Parse.ly, Dash Hudson, TikTok Analytics, and Meta Creator tools is a plus
Highly organized, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
Passion for culture, style, entertainment, and the conversations shaping them
Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends for live coverage
This role is based in New York City and operates on a hybrid schedule (4 days in‑office per week)

Compensation & EEO
The base salary for this role is $65,280 – $68,000. This role may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits.
