Our client, a leading CPG manufacturer is seeking a Senior Director of Finance to join the team. This is a newly created role that will lead to transformative revenue and business optimization.
This role serves as a strategic financial partner to both the Sales and Marketing organizations. The position is responsible for analyzing complex datasets to generate meaningful insights at the SKU, brand, and customer level, ultimately driving revenue growth and profitability optimization across the business.
Revenue Planning & Forecasting
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Demand Planning teams to develop accurate revenue forecasts and annual budgets.
Build and maintain revenue bridge analyses across key dimensions including customer, brand, and seasonality.
Monitor sales performance through dashboards and reporting tools, delivering actionable insights via Business Intelligence platforms.
Trade Promotion Management
Manage trade promotion accruals and support the annual trade rate planning process.
Partner closely with the Trade Promotion team to evaluate and validate forecast assumptions from internal teams and external partners.
Conduct analyses to assess trade effectiveness, measure ROI, and identify opportunities to improve promotional spend efficiency.
Support pricing initiatives in partnership with Marketing leadership, including evaluating price increases, pack/weight changes, and promotional strategies using elasticity and lift modeling.
Maintain and distribute pricing updates, ensuring clear communication across internal stakeholders.
Analyze the price-to-net waterfall to reinforce pricing discipline and identify margin leakage.
Commercial Finance & Margin Analytics Drive visibility into profitability and support data-driven decision-making across customers, brands, and channels:
Develop and enhance tools to track margin performance and identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Prepare and analyze P&L reporting at the customer, brand, and channel level to uncover key drivers of performance.
Establish standardized approaches to margin analysis, partnering with Marketing during product planning cycles to evaluate profitability and identify gaps.
Monitor performance trends and benchmark results to ensure focus on high-impact opportunities.
Lead efforts to refine methodologies and tools used for unit-level profitability, incorporating inputs from Operations, Procurement, and Quality teams to support new product decisions.
Business Partnership & Financial Support Act as a trusted advisor to Marketing leadership, providing financial guidance and performance tracking:
Partner with the VP of Marketing to develop annual budgets and monitor spend against plan, including advertising, media, travel, research, and digital marketing investments.
Analyze key cost drivers such as broker commissions and other sales-related expenses.
Collaborate with Marketing and Operations to evaluate ROI on capital investments from both revenue and margin perspectives.
Build scalable tools and reporting frameworks to track KPIs across SKUs, brands, and customers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
5+ years of experience in commercial finance, sales finance, or brand/marketing finance, ideally within the CPG or food industry
Strong analytical capabilities with demonstrated experience in pricing, profitability, and financial modeling
Detail-oriented with a process-driven mindset
Proven ability to build effective relationships across cross-functional teams
