Korn Ferry is exclusively partnering with a Chicago-based investment and purpose-driven platform focused on deploying long‑term capital across sustainability and environmental initiatives to identify a Director of Finance for their dynamic team. This is a true build opportunity. The Director of Finance will establish and lead the FP&A function, partnering closely with the CFO and senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and board reporting. The role is highly visible and strategically focused, with financial insights directly shaping decisions across a multi‑entity platform. In partnership with the investment team, the Director will support modeling and capital allocation while overseeing liquidity management across entities and helping develop financial frameworks in evolving and often ambiguous areas. The environment is lean and entrepreneurial, requiring comfort building processes from the ground up and translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. This role is well suited for an entrepreneurial candidate seeking a strategic, high‑impact opportunity with direct leadership exposure and the ability to shape a growing finance function. What We’re Looking For

8–10+ years of experience in public accounting, or a combination of public accounting and relevant industry experience, with exposure to investment partnerships, investment management, private clients, and/or family offices. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics; CPA is preferred. Experience in investment management, asset management, private equity, venture capital, or a family office environment highly preferred. Proven experience leading budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning, and financial process implementation in complex or multi‑entity organizations. Strong client‑service orientation with demonstrated ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders. Experience managing or coordinating with outsourced service providers (e.g., accounting, tax, audit). Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills required; experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred. Ability to synthesize complex financial data into clear insights, trends, and decision frameworks for executive and board audiences. Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders. Demonstrated comfort working in ambiguous environments and developing structure where none exists. Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently and drive initiatives to completion. Who You Are
