
Patient Account Representative - NH Neurospine - Full Time

Position Summary - M - F 8am - 5pm
Responsible for the timely follow up and collection of outstanding hospital accounts receivables.
Key Responsibilities
Performs routine, compliant billing and insurance follow up according to policies and procedures.
Reports claim rejections that may have a processing or systematic resolution.
Identifies trends and reports them to supervisor for discussion with plan provider representatives.
Basic knowledge of billing and collection rules, plan payment policies, timely filing rules and plan specific requirements.
Carries out other related duties as requested.
Collection tasks related to eligibility and referrals.
Performs collection asks related to eligibility & referrals.
Performs reconciliation and payment research.
Performs billing & collection authorization.
Responsible for denial tasks.
Processes refunds.
Verifies WC insurance and claim adjuster information.
Negotiates WC OOS rates.Responsible for underpayment WC Report.
Responsible for cash bag distribution/daily deposits.
Sends billing faxes; works general task box, sorting mail.
Meets with patients regarding financial counseling/collections of old balances.
Education/Experience/Licensure
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: 3 years’ experience with UB04/1500R/837/835 formats and standards.
Certification/Licensure: N/A
Software/Hardware: Excellent computer skills including Windows, Excel, and Internet experience. Excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette. Organized math skills. Organized and multi-task skills.
