Position Summary The Roofing SalesPerson will generate new business and manage sales opportunities for both residential and commercial roofing projects. This role involves prospecting, meeting with property owners or decision makers coordinating roof evaluations/inspections presenting proposals and closing deals. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in the field, understands the roofing industry, is goal-oriented, and has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities

Prospect for new leads in the residential and commercial sectors (e.g., homeowner associations, property management firms, businesses, industrial facilities).

Respond to inbound inquiries and follow up existing leads.

Visit customer sites across the St.Louis metro (including surrounding suburbs) to assess roof conditions, take basic measurements/photographs, identify issues, and discuss solutions.

Prepare and present roofing proposals including cost estimates, timelines and warranties.

Educate clients on roofing materials and systems (shingles, metal roofs, flat roofs, coatings, etc.), job scope, safety considerations, and regulatory/compliance issues (local codes, insurance, etc).

Collaborate with operations/install teams to ensure feasible scheduling and execution of jobs.

Negotiate contracts, ensure proper documentation, close sales, and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.

Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets and KPIs (e.g., number of appointments, proposals submitted, closed deals, revenue).

Maintain a robust sales pipeline, track status of opportunities, and report progress to management.

Stay informed about industry trends, competitive offerings, new roofing products/materials, and local market conditions in the St.Louis area.

Maintain professionalism and represent the company’s brand in all interactions—on-site, over the phone, via email and in person.

Provide after-sales support coordination: ensure customer questions are addressed, coordinate with the service department or warranty team as needed.

Qualifications / Skills

Previous sales experience required; roofing or construction industry experience preferred (residential and/or commercial).

Proven track record of achieving sales targets, preferably in field sales.Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal & written), presentation and negotiation skills.

Willing to travel within the St.Louis metro area and suburbs.

Ability to explain roofing issues and technical details in layman’s terms.

Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Comfortable using mobile device/email/CRM tools to track leads, schedule appointments and follow up.

Self-motivated, goal-oriented, able to work independently as well as part of a team.

High level of integrity and ethical sales behavior.

Ability to work flexible hours as needed (sometimes evenings/weekends) to meet clients’ schedules.

Forgivable draw of $2,000.00 per month plus commission
