
Sales Development Representative

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sales Development Representative (SDR) to support our sales pipeline by qualifying inbound leads, gathering required documentation, facilitating discovery calls, and scheduling qualified merchants with our Account Executives (AEs). This role sits at the front end of the sales process and is essential to creating a smooth, professional experience for prospective merchants while ensuring our AEs receive well-qualified, well-prepared opportunities.

Responsibilities
Lead Qualification & Discovery
Contact inbound leads promptly via phone, email, and SMS
Conduct initial discovery calls to understand the merchant’s business, funding needs, and eligibility
Ask qualifying questions related to revenue, time in business, credit profile, and funding purpose
Clearly explain BusinessLoans.com’s process, products, and next steps
Request, collect, and organize required merchant documentation (e.g., bank statements, applications, IDs)
Ensure all documents are complete, accurate, and compliant before advancing leads
Follow up persistently and professionally with merchants to obtain missing or updated documents
Maintain clean, well-documented records in the CRM
Schedule qualified merchants for meetings or calls with Account Executives
Prepare merchants for AE conversations by setting expectations and confirming documentation
Coordinate calendars and ensure smooth handoffs between SDRs and AEs
Communicate relevant merchant details and insights to AEs prior to scheduled calls
Accurately log all activities, notes, and documents in the CRM
Maintain up-to-date lead statuses and follow-up tasks
Meet or exceed daily activity, contact, and qualification goals
Qualifications
1+ year of experience in sales development, inside sales, or customer qualification (finance or lending experience a plus)
Strong phone presence and ability to build rapport quickly
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Comfortable requesting sensitive financial documents in a professional manner
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage a high volume of leads and follow-ups
Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar preferred)
Self-motivated, coachable, and goal-oriented
Required Skills

Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
