Director, Finance – Durcon
Position Summary
The Finance Director will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Accounting & Finance department. The Finance Director will act as a positive catalyst for operational excellence ensuring an environment of financial integrity. In addition, the Finance Director will contribute to the development of the organization's business strategy, and will interpret business strategy and develop organizational objectives to align with this strategy. Day to day finance operations include general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, payroll, budgeting/forecasting, and FP&A. The Finance Director monitors, leads monthly closing, and consolidates all international locations as well as ensure that the company has the financial systems and procedures in place to support the company.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate US GAAP standards and regulatory requirements for USA and International Affiliates
Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts
Prepare monthly operating review packages for corporate financial review including EBITDA bridges and financial impact of operational metric outcomes
Supervise cost and general accounting, A/P, and Payroll personnel
Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of company's financial status
Responsible for the timely and accurate research, analysis, reporting of highly complex and specialized financial information pivotal to bids, job cost and contracts process
Serve as liaison between Company and external parties such as auditors, tax, and legal advisors
Responsible for overseeing accounting procedures and financial internal controls (implementing, monitoring, enhancing)
Qualifications / Requirements
Minimum of 7-10 years general accounting experience, public accounting or manufacturing experience required
Process and job costing a plus
Fundamental accounting knowledge including US GAAP as it applies to financial statements
Advanced analysis skills focused on financial reporting and production costing
Demonstrated and thorough working knowledge of ERP accounting systems
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Strong organizational & time management skills
Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Some international and domestic travel may be required
Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire and develop teams
Education / Training / Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
3+ years' experience as a Director, Assistant Director, or controller
CPA strongly preferred
MBA, or MS in Accounting strongly preferred
Experience with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) accounting software preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and keyboard for extended periods of time
Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use
Normal office environment but may be subject to
High Noise Levels from machinery
Wear personal protective equipment while working with production floor environment
