About the Dallas Tennis Association The Dallas Tennis Association (DTA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to growing the game of tennis and using it as a vehicle to promote health, education, and opportunity throughout the Dallas community. Through youth programming, community partnerships, and player development initiatives, DTA works to make tennis accessible and impactful for players of all backgrounds.

Position Summary The Development Manager / Fundraiser is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing fundraising and donor engagement efforts that support the Dallas Tennis Association’s mission and programs. This role focuses on building strong relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and community stakeholders while executing fundraising campaigns, events, and grant activities.

The ideal candidate is a relationship‑driven, organized, and results‑oriented fundraiser who is passionate about community impact, youth development, and sports‑based nonprofits. This position blends strategic planning with hands‑on execution and works closely with staff, board members, and volunteers to build a sustainable culture of philanthropy for DTA.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan aligned with organizational goals, including individual giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, and special events

Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors at all giving levels, with an emphasis on growing recurring and major gifts

Track fundraising progress and performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to leadership and the board

Donor Relations & Stewardship

Build and maintain meaningful relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporate partners, and community stakeholders

Manage donor communications, including appeals, acknowledgements, impact updates, and recognition efforts

Maintain accurate donor records and activity tracking in the organization’s CRM or donor database

Events & Sponsorships

Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising and donor engagement events, such as tournaments, receptions, and community gatherings

Secure event sponsorships, in‑kind donations, and partnerships to maximize revenue and visibility

Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and committees to ensure successful event execution and follow‑up

Grants & Institutional Giving

Research prospective foundation and corporate funding opportunities

Assist with or lead grant proposal writing, reporting, and compliance tracking

Maintain grant calendars, deadlines, and documentation

Support board members in their fundraising and donor engagement efforts, including preparation for donor meetings and cultivation activities

Engage volunteers and ambassadors in fundraising initiatives and community outreach

Collaboration & Communications

Work closely with program and communications staff to align fundraising messaging with organizational impact

Represent DTA at community events, meetings, and partner activities to increase awareness and support

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

10+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or donor relations

Proven success in donor cultivation, event fundraising, and relationship management

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Preferred

Experience with sports‑based, youth development, or community nonprofits

Grant writing experience

Familiarity with donor databases or CRM systems

Knowledge of the Dallas–Fort Worth philanthropic or corporate community

Passion for tennis, youth programs, and community engagement

Relationship‑building and donor stewardship

Final Compensation will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience.
