Repeat client of mine is a high‑growth construction company headquartered in Virginia with approximately $80M in annual revenue and a strong pipeline of awarded and upcoming projects. The business is entering an accelerated scale‑up phase and preparing for a private equity exit within 3 years. To support this growth, the company is looking to hire a Director of FP&A to partner with the CFO and executive leadership team. Main duties include Lead the annual budgeting process, long‑range planning, and ongoing forecasting cycles. Develop forward‑looking financial models that support scaling and the PE exit strategy. Provide scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, and decision support for growth initiatives. Analyze financial and operational performance across all divisions and projects. Create dashboards, KPIs, and reporting packages that enhance visibility and decision‑making. Support improvements in revenue, cash flow, and margin forecasting. Collaborate with Accounting on WIP schedules and project performance reviews. Deeply understand percentage‑of‑completion accounting and its impact on forecasting. Review job cost data, productivity metrics, and margin trends to identify risks and opportunities. Work closely with project managers, operations leaders, and estimating teams to drive accountability and improve project‑level financial accuracy. Improve financial processes and reporting cadence to align with private equity standards. Contribute to data integrity initiatives and financial system modernization. Prepare materials for board meetings, lenders, investors, and PE firms. Assist in evaluating M&A opportunities, capital planning, and ad‑hoc strategic initiatives. To be considered for this newly created and high-profile Director of FP&A opportunity you should posses a CPA or MBA, minimum 8+ years FP&A or financial analysis experience, ideally within the construction industry or another project‑driven environment. Strong understanding of project financials, job costing, WIP reporting, percentage‑of‑completion revenue recognition, advanced financial modeling and analytical skills. Experience supporting or operating within high‑growth environments; PE exposure a plus. Ability to partner cross‑functionally and communicate insights clearly to both financial and non‑financial stakeholders.
