JOB REQUIREMENTS: Vilas County is looking to fill 1 LTE position within Forestry, Recreation and Land Department. The LTE would be working with department staff to perform a variety of duties as assigned by the Forest Administrator. Most work will be completed on Vilas County Parks & Recreation Facilities including: 15 picnic areas, 13 fishing piers & docks, 11 boat landings, 3 canoe landings, 3 campgrounds, 3 swimming beaches and 1 shooting range. Some work may also be completed on department buildings and grounds. Duties: Responsibility include the care and improvement of the County\s Parks and Recreation sites including mowing, litter removal, cleanup of damaged trees, boat landings, buildings, picnic tables, piers, trails and all other duties as assigned.\ OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a valid Wisconsin driver\s license with a good driving record and be reliable with good communication skills. Knowledge and ability to operate and maintain recreational and maintenance equipment including, but not limited to, trucks, mowers, boats and a variety of hand tools. Ability to work with limited supervision and accomplish work goals as assigned by the Department. Performance of duties will require the ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions, to lift 50 pounds, and perform physical work on a regular basis. Landscaping experience with the ability to maintain the equipment of the landscaping trade will be a plus. Carpentry experience and proficiency with the variety of hand tools and power tools of the carpentry trade will be a plus.
