Role Overview
Shooki is seeking a Volunteer Director of SEO to lead our search engine optimization , organic growth , and search visibility strategy . This is a remote unpaid opportunity ideal for someone who wants hands‑on leadership experience, startup exposure, resume‑building work, and the chance to help grow an exciting new brand in the digital product space.
In this role, you will help define and execute our SEO strategy , improve organic search rankings , identify high‑value keywords , strengthen our content SEO , and support long‑term website traffic growth , brand visibility , and user acquisition . You will work closely with leadership and cross‑functional collaborators to build a strong foundation for technical SEO , on‑page SEO , keyword targeting , content strategy , analytics , and conversion optimization .

Key Responsibilities
Lead and shape the overall SEO strategy for Shooki
Conduct keyword research , search intent analysis , and competitive SEO analysis
Identify opportunities to improve organic search rankings , website traffic , and search visibility
Optimize website content for on‑page SEO , including title tags, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking, and keyword placement
Partner on content marketing strategy to support SEO content creation , blog strategy , landing page optimization , and organic acquisition
Monitor and report on performance using Google Analytics , Google Search Console , and other SEO tools
Evaluate technical SEO opportunities, including crawlability, indexing, site speed, mobile SEO, and user experience improvements
Support local SEO , brand SEO , and broader digital growth marketing initiatives as the company expands
Analyze user behavior and recommend conversion rate optimization (CRO) improvements
Stay current on SEO trends , Google algorithm updates , AI search trends , and evolving best practices in search marketing
Qualifications
Experience or strong interest in SEO , search engine optimization , organic marketing , or digital marketing
Knowledge of keyword research , on‑page SEO , technical SEO , content SEO , and organic search strategy
Familiarity with Google Analytics , Google Search Console , Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar SEO analytics tools
Understanding of website performance , search rankings , traffic analysis , and conversion optimization
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
Comfortable working independently in a remote startup environment
Excited by startup marketing , growth strategy , consumer apps , and building something from an early stage
Leadership, collaboration, and project ownership mindset
Experience with SEO for startups , local search , mobile‑first content , or content strategy is a plus
