
Laborer - Navy Marine Golf Course (Cart Barn)

Summary
This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Sports & Fitness (N921) Branch; Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Recreational Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services (N94) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH), Honolulu, HI. The purpose is to provide labor assistance to the Navy Marine Golf Course - Cart Barn.
Responsibilities
Operate heavy power mowers, adjust blades, clean and oil mowers.
Cut trees using ax or chainsaw.
Dug ditches and trenches with pick and shovel where dirt is hard and compact; perform grading and sloping.
Occasionally break up pavement with jackhammer, mix and pour concrete, asphalt, and hot mix, and fill and level potholes in damaged roads.
Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
Must pass all applicable records and background check.
Must successfully pass E-Verify employment verification check; any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
Qualifications
Ability to operate, control, and clean heavy power equipment and work safely with heavy tools.
Proficiency in providing continual care and attention to avoid accidents and finish work properly.
Prior job experience or on-the-job training necessary to gain these abilities.
Ability to complete assignments involving multiple tasks or processes that require remembering directions, sequences, etc.
Experience in heavy lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 lbs., operating power mowers on grades, and pushing heavy wheelbarrow loads of cement.
Physical Effort Exerts very heavy physical effort such as frequently lifting and moving objects over 50 lbs., running power mowers on grades, or pushing heavy wheelbarrow loads of cement, etc.
Working Conditions Work may expose the worker to drafts, noise, dust, and dirt and require standing on concrete floors for long periods. Outdoor work is performed in all kinds of weather. Must wear issued protective gear.
Education No positive education requirement.
