Duties And Responsibilities Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY The Kitchen Porter will wash dishes from the kitchen, patient room-service and café. He/she will assist in keeping the dining room area tidy by cleaning tables throughout the day as needed and help with thorough cleaning each night at close.

Duties And Responsibilities Kitchen Porter

Wash dishes from the kitchen, patient room-service and café in a timely manner

Wash dishes using a commercial dish washing machine

Air dry dishes on drying racks

Return dishes to their correct locations in the kitchen

Take and document dish washer temperatures as outlined in department procedures

Assist in keeping the dining room tidy

Clean off and sanitize tables in the dining room as needed

Clean up spills that may occur on the dining room floor throughout the day

Take out dining room trash as needed

Assist in the nightly cleaning of the dining room area as outlined in department procedure

Keep the dish-washing area clean and tidy

Throughout the day wipe up spills and keep floors safe

Take out trash from dish-washing area as needed

At the end of the day, dish-washing machine and area will be thoroughly cleaned according to department procedures, including sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, etc

Complete deep cleaning tasks as assigned

Participate in continued education, trainings and maintenance of Food Handlers Permits

Maintain current Food Handlers Permit

Complete the standard Idaho Falls Community Hospital (IFCH), Nutritional Services Department and position-specific Health Stream educations in a timely manner

Attends and participates in meetings

Participates in a short daily Huddle meetings under the direction of the Café Service Coordinator and/or Nutritional Services Manager to review important information of the day

Participate in regularly scheduled Nutritional Services Staff meetings

Attend and participates in other hospital or department meetings as assigned

Please note benefits are based on eligibility according to full-time, part-time or PRN status classification.

Qualifications

Education/Certification: High school graduate (or equivalent); Food Handlers Permit (required within 30 days of employment)

Experience: No previous experience will train for skill set

Equipment/Technology: Ability to learn and use an industrial dish washing machine

Language/Communication: Ability to read and write in English
