Job Summary The Director of Recruiting is responsible for developing and leading the organization's talent acquisition strategy to attract, assess, and hire top talent across all functions. This leader oversees the full recruitment lifecycle, manages the recruiting team, partners closely with business leaders on workforce planning, and ensures the organization's hiring practices support growth, efficiency, and long-term talent needs. The Director of Recruiting is a strategic leader with strong operational capability, responsible for both elevating recruiting performance and creating an exceptional candidate experience.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive recruiting strategy aligned with organizational objectives.

Establish and refine recruiting operating models, processes, and policies to drive consistency and scalability.

Build and maintain networks to find qualified candidates; create a database of candidates.

Work closely with Business Partners to align sourcing activities to workforce plans and understand recruitment needs; design and implement sourcing strategies.

Manage external partnerships with recruiters, colleges, job boards, and HR software vendors.

Conduct regular follow‑up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.

Gather competitive intelligence, develop targeted sourcing environments, conduct research into competing companies, and create talent maps for active and passive candidate recruiting.

Partner with Talent Management in the creation and facilitation of leadership hiring and selection training.

Oversee the creation and updating of job descriptions, requisition management, recruiting reports, interview guides, and calibration tools.

Manage, mentor, and develop a high‑performing recruiting team.

Collaborate with marketing to implement online and offline employer branding activities.

Oversee and continually improve all stages of the candidate experience (including application, interviews, and communication).

Measure key recruitment metrics, such as source of hire and time‑to‑hire.

Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.

Work Experience

8‑10+ years of corporate recruiting experience; experience in recruiting sales, field operations, and construction positions preferred.

5+ years of experience conducting competency/behavioral based interviews.

Proficient in using Applicant Tracking and Human Resources Information Systems; Workday experience preferred.

Experience using social media to source and network with candidates.

Skills

Skilled in collaborating closely with managers to determine needs and understand roles to be recruited.

Able to think things through and develop processes that contribute to enhanced efficiency.

Proficient in Microsoft software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.

Must be able to sit and/or stand at a desk for a minimum of 8 hours a day and perform tasks requiring repetitive use of hands.

This job is performed in a temperature‑controlled office environment.

Other Requirements

Travel may be required to conduct onsite interviews, attend job fairs, deliver training, and attend meetings (5‑10%).
