Job Summary The Sleep Coach is responsible for delivering engaging, high-impact product training and brand education to retail sales associates across partner locations. This role focuses on facilitating group and one-on-one learning experiences, promoting merchandising excellence, and reinforcing BEDGEAR’s brand standards. The Sleep Coach acts as a brand ambassador at marketing events and in-store demonstrations, supports the onboarding of new retail partners, and ensures a consistent brand message through training and compliance visits. The role requires strong presentation skills, adaptability, and a passion for coaching others in a retail environment. HEAVY TRAVEL REQUIRED - APPROX. 75% OF TIME WILL BE VISITING CUSTOMERS WITHIN TERRITORY (INCLUDES OVERNIGHT TRAVEL AS NEEDED).
Essential Functions
Conduct high-level sales training seminars for retail sales associates at partner stores, accommodating group sizes up to 50+ individuals in both classroom and individual formats.
Follow up with one-on-one hands‑on training, sparring, and coaching to reinforce learning and product knowledge.
Deliver effective, inspiring presentations in person and via BGTV or local media outlets.
Act as a brand ambassador at company tradeshows and marketing events to promote awareness of the company and its products.
Collaborate with independent sales reps and sales management to create a cohesive presentation and convey a consistent brand message at the retail level.
Continuously monitor, assess, and update training programs and processes to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
Maintain detailed call reports and provide performance feedback from store visits.
Conduct visual merchandising compliance reviews during store visits and events, taking pictures of POP/Display items, providing recommendations, and evaluating competition floor space.
Identify opportunities for marketing collateral placement and provide insights to account management and sales managers.
Assist in the onboarding of new employees, providing comprehensive training and support.
Create recorded training sessions for continued or refresher education classes.
Skills
A dynamic and engaging personality with a passion for coaching and inspiring others.
Some experience delivering dynamic and effective marketing/sales presentations to diverse group sizes.
Experience in the home furnishings or retail mattress industry is highly preferred, though not mandatory.
Demonstrated ability to work remotely and independently as needed.
Exposure to coaching or training others in sales techniques.
Strong ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with key influencers.
Minimum Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older.
HS Diploma or GED.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify.
English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension).
Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.
Must have home office with personal laptop for business use.
Must be willing to participate in a bring your own device (BYOD) cell‑phone program (stipend provided).
Must have a dependable personal vehicle with credible insurance coverage and valid driver’s license.
Must have a valid passport for travel outside of territory as needed.
Travel required at least 75% of time.
Ability and willingness to work weekends and major retail holidays.
Preferred Education/Qualifications
2+ years delivering presentations and consumer product training to large groups of people.
Background in education is a plus.
Must have a clean and valid driver’s license with reliable personal transportation.
Mattress and bedding accessories experience preferable but not required.
Experience working remotely.
Experience teaching sales techniques to others.
Physical Demands May include lifting up to 100 lbs for short periods, walking, standing, and performing light to moderate physical tasks. Work is predominantly sedentary and light in intensity. Work may involve travel up to 75% of the time, including overnight stays.
