As a Marketing Manager - US, you will be a commercial growth partner to our US business, driving sales growth through strong positioning, effective sales enablement, and structured market engagement. Your primary focus will be the Defense & Security sector, with a secondary focus on Avian radar, all while coordinating closely with our global marketing team in the Netherlands. This is a versatile, high‑impact role designed for a strategic thinker who can adapt global excellence to local market expectations. This role reports to the Head of Marketing.
Responsibilities
Commercial Marketing & Sales Enablement: Adapt global messaging for the US defense procurement environment and support high‑value bids to ensure alignment between buyer expectations and global positioning.
Brand Positioning & Credibility: Strengthen our reputation within the US defense ecosystem by contributing to thought leadership and supporting PR activities in coordination with global communications.
Events & Field Marketing: Lead US participation in key trade shows and conferences, ensuring events generate significant commercial impact through targeted pre‑event messaging and structured follow‑up.
Digital & Market Activation: Guide US‑targeted digital positioning and provide structured feedback to global digital teams to ensure campaigns align with commercial objectives.
Market & Competitive Intelligence: Monitor US defense and aviation developments, track evolving buyer expectations, and translate these market signals into actionable input for global teams.
Avian Segment Support: Dedicate focused effort (approx. 20%) to adapting messaging for US airports and wind energy customers while maintaining clear differentiation from defense positioning.
Global Coordination: Identify material gaps and coordinate development with global teams to ensure the US sales team has the tools they need to succeed.
Requirements
Experience: 5‑10+ years of B2B marketing experience, with a strong preference for backgrounds in defense, aerospace, robotics, or deep tech.
Technical & Strategic Skills: Commercially driven and strategically minded with strong writing and positioning capabilities.
Sales Support: Proven experience supporting field sales teams and a deep understanding of the US defense procurement environment.
Adaptability: Comfortable operating autonomously in a scaling environment and effectively navigating a matrix organization.
Collaboration: Ability to build strong relationships with internal global teams and external partners, including PR agencies, event partners, and industry associations.
Location & Travel: Located in the US with the ability to travel for business up to 25% of the time, working the remainder from an office or remotely.
