Job Summary
A Job Coach is responsible for providing individualized support and guidance to individuals with intellectual and learning disabilities to help them achieve and maintain meaningful employment. The Job Coach will collaborate with employers to foster an inclusive work environment, provide on-site training and support, and advocate for accommodations when necessary. Additionally, they will monitor progress, offer constructive feedback, and ensure clients achieve their employment goals while promoting independence and self-sufficiency. This role requires strong communication, patience, creativity, and a genuine commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities to thrive in the workforce.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma
2 years' experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities or ASD
Valid Driver's License and Car Insurance
Physical Requirements
The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching
Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via email
Ability to lift or carry typically up to 20 pounds
Visual and auditory ability to read documents, observe client behavior, and engage in conversations
Work Environment
Work is typically performed in community locations and employer sites
May involve exposure to various work environments, including industrial, retail, or service settings, depending on client placement
Interaction with clients, employers, and community partners may require sensitivity, adaptability, and occasional conflict resolution

Plan and implement a job coaching strategy with multiple individuals
Discover what motivates individuals and assist them in utilizing that motivation in the workplace
Assist individuals in learning and excelling in their job functions

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Effective and succinct written documentation
Strong time-management
Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
Ability to stay organized when dealing with multiple employees simultaneously
Upbeat, motivational attitude
Experience with Google Suite is a plus
