
Golf Course Tree Specialist

The Tree Specialist, under the supervision of the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, manages all the trees on the course and the nurseries. This person also assumes the responsibilities of Equipment Operator II
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Trims and prunes hedges, shrubbery and trees on the Golf Course
Assists in maintaining the golf course as an Equipment Operator 2. These duties include:
Mowing greens, tees, aprons, fairways, and approaches to the greens, and other areas not accessible with gang mowers. Also rakes sand traps with power rakes.
Aerifies greens; verticuts tees and greens; spikes greens; operates sod cutter, and fertilizer spreader; and mows rough with rotary and operates other equipment as directed.
Maintains gasoline, oil and other equipment fluid levels daily, reports equipment problems and failures to the Equipment Manager immediately.
Performs other duties as directed by the Assistant Superintendents.
Additional duties might include trimming trees or mangroves in a self-contained lift
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Tree Specialist may supervise other employees or temporary workers from time to time.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years work-related experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Driver’s License preferred
