Sales Operations Specialist – Richmond, VA
CoStar Group seeks an experienced Sales Operations Specialist to partner with our sales organization, providing licensing and pricing expertise and supporting sales territories, books of business creation, and the quote‑to‑cash process.
Responsibilities
Develop in‑depth knowledge of CoStar’s licensing and pricing models to support field sales teams.
Review and approve proposals submitted through our customer relationship management (CRM) system, resolving compliance, revenue recognition, or legal issues prior to deal closure.
Assist senior sales leadership in the analysis and creation/management of sales territories and books of business.
Maintain sales records and provide support throughout the sale process.
Collaborate with sales, finance, and marketing to refine pricing structure, rates, and discounts for product offerings.
Create recommendations for standard deal‑structure models.
Produce reports and analysis to advise management.
Serve as subject‑matter expert on sales processes, policies and software pricing, commercial terms, and legal compliance.
Conduct market research to identify potential competitors.
Identify internal process‑improvement initiatives related to proposal and pricing workflows.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not‑for‑profit, in‑person college/university.
4+ years of experience in sales, sales‑oriented finance, sales operations, or pricing analytics for sales with a proven track record navigating complex proposals, quotes, and contracts.
Experience working cross‑functionally with Sales, Legal, Contracts, and Finance.
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
Flexibility to work during standard shift hours of 10 AM – 7 PM EST.
