Senior – Global Trade Operations Location: Anywhere in Country

Overview As a Senior in Global Trade, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and executing global trade strategies that align with business objectives. You’ll leverage your expertise in trade laws to optimize supply chain operations, drive cost savings, and ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include determining correct customs valuation, managing transfer pricing and customs valuation policies, and overseeing remediation processes and corrective filings with customs and other authorities. You will use your experience and technical knowledge to bring value to clients and manage risks related to global trade matters. You will be a member of our Global Trade Managed Services team that assists our clients to move their freight both effectively and compliantly around the globe.

Key Responsibilities

Define and execute deliverables, contribute to the delivery of processes, solutions, and projects, and apply sound judgment to inform recommendations.

Manage complex issues, analyze variable factors, and implement procedures and guidelines.

Interact with external clients, participate in client working sessions, and may serve as a team lead.

Execute Harmonized System (HS) Classification Projects, drive Foreign Trade Agreement (FTA) qualification and solicitation initiatives, and conduct rigorous audits of customs brokers and third‑party providers.

Research customs and international trade issues and perform customs compliance work for our clients.

Make decisions based on broad policies, applying personal knowledge and experience to resolve issues.

Implement procedures and guidelines, often working on complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation.

Provide general guidance to others newer to the role or at a lower level.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Relations or a related trade operations management field.

4 or more years of related work experience in industry, a professional services firm, a Fortune 500 company or a major importer or exporter.

Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

High‑level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

An analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail and robust critical thinking capabilities.

A collaborative spirit and a dedication to contributing positively to team dynamics.

Industry‑specific certifications or licenses are viewed favorably.

Excellent organizational skills, strong motivation, and a positive attitude.

Proficiency in a technology‑enabled environment.

Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment.

Ideal for (Preferred Qualifications)

A Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification.

Experience in project management or resource planning.

Familiarity with client‑facing roles and engagement economics.

Exposure to international trade regulations and compliance.

Process, document, and oversee FTA documentation requests with precision and efficiency.

Accurately classify products in accordance with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).

Foster proactive and strategic communication with suppliers, clients, and third‑party service providers to ensure the seamless exchange of critical FTA documentation and classification information.

Perform meticulous reviews of trade documentation to guarantee adherence to Customs Regulations, creating comprehensive audit trails that articulate the methodology and reasoning for classification outcomes.

Provide steadfast support for daily FTA and classification inquiries, adeptly navigating and resolving import‑related complexities.

Develop, analyze, and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs), assemble detailed quarterly business review reports, and manage ad hoc data inquiries to drive informed business decisions.

Proactively identify and advocate for process enhancements and operational efficiencies.

Research customs and international trade issues.

Advising clients on customs compliance issues and potential duty savings strategies.

A proven understanding of customs compliance regulations and best practices.

Experience in professional services together with the ability to listen to a client’s needs and develop a value proposition to expand new business.

Benefits

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $81,700 to $135,000. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $98,100 to $153,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
