Position Overview Helix Aviation Academy is seeking a dynamic and passionate English II Teacher who is committed to academic excellence and student success. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in English Language Arts, a student-centered approach, and a readiness to embrace innovative instructional practices that leverage technology in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver rigorous, standards-based English II instruction aligned with Louisiana state standards.

Create engaging, student-centered lessons that promote critical thinking, reading comprehension, analytical writing, and effective communication.

Use digital tools to enhance instruction and student learning, in alignment with our VILS program.

Analyze student data to adjust instruction and provide differentiated support.

Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and social‑emotional growth.

Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and contribute to school-wide goals.

Additional Expectations

All staff are expected to sponsor one club or enrichment during school hours when scheduled; additional pay is not provided, as this is a part of every teacher's job role.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field (required).

Valid Louisiana teaching certification in Secondary English or eligibility to obtain one.

Previous experience teaching high school ELA preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency or willingness to grow in the use of educational technology.
